My Beauty Diary - Black Pearl Mask Review

 
Hi everyone, this is my first review ever so bear with me.=)  

First, I just wanna say that my skin is naturally oily/acne prone and sensitive.  Since I started using Retina and Duac to combat my acne, it has been a little dry/dehydrated.  I was able to keep it a bit moisturize with my night cream.  I'm not sure what happen this past few months though.  Every foundation I put on gave me a cake face, even the ones that was working well for me before.  I knew it was me this time and not the foundation.  I had to find a deep hydrating product to try out and something that would not cause acne or irritation.  I stumble upon the famous Hadalabo Gokujyn Hyaluronic Acid Lotion aka toner.  When I saw it's dye-free, mineral oil-free, fragrance-free, and their hyaluronic acid claims, I was sold.  I was so in love that I bought their milky lotion and became extremely fascinated with Asian's skincare products.  And what's Asian skincare without facial masks?This is how I end up with my first mask ever, My Beauty Diary Black Pearl Mask.  

So what made me buy this facial mask over tons of others?  This particular mask has extremely high ratings and reviews online.  It is considered to be My Beauty Diary's best selling mask.  Not only that, I didn't have to dig too deep into my pocket to purchase them.

The mask is folded in fours and comes in a small grey packet.  There's a plastic lining which holds the shape of the actual mask in place.  When removing the mask from the packaging, there's still a bit of serum inside.  I applied it on my neck and chest.  The serum feels a bit slimy but sinks into your skin quickly once rubbed in.

Directions:

Put the mask on cleansed and toned face. Leave it for 20-30 minutes and peel off. Gently massage the remaining serum for better absorption. No rinsing is necessary. Follow with usual skin care products.

I put the side where the mask was against the plastic on my face.  I've never used a mask before, but the application process isn't advanced calculus.  (Just think of Jason, and you'll get it from there.) The direction says to leave it on your face for 20 to 30 minutes, but I left it on for about an hour.  I know...Rebel!  It felt so nice on my skin that I actually wanted to go to sleep with it on.  

Surprisingly, the mask was still moisten when I took it off.  I hear stories where people were complaining that their mask would dried up in about 15 minutes, but it wasn't like that for me nor did it became opaque in that amount of time.  

Don't laugh at my puckers!  I was trying to look cute like those girls in kdramas.lol... I know. Fail.LOL

After I removed the mask, my face looked brighter, dewy (wet) since the serum was still on my face.  I rubbed the remaining serum into my face and neck.  My skin felt super moisturized and a little sticky.  The stickiness went away after an hour or so.  I know we're not suppose to touch our face, but I kept wanting to.  It felt so smooth and soft.  Sadly, this effects last about 12 hours only.

Would I buy it again?  Yes.

So why would I repurchase a product that doesn't do what it claims to do?  I do love the effects it gives my skin even though it's only temporary.  This mask juices up my dehydrated skin and brightens it.  Maybe if I use it a few months, I might see some long term results.  Of course, we all know that no skincare product will work wonders.  It's a gradual process and most of the times, it doesn't even work at all.  As long as it doesn't break me out and causes irritation, I am a happy camper.........still searching for that miracle product.
